Why Circuit Rider?

First and foremost, Circuit Rider is the name under which our organization was founded in 1976. But what is a circuit rider? Historically, judges, doctors, and ministers travelled established routes or “circuits” in order to deliver their services to as many people as possible, literally meeting them where they were. Our name, Circuit Rider, was originally chosen in the same spirit of diversified service delivery to our community — meeting our clients where they were physically and emotionally. Still our mission today, we are proud to return to our original roots and name.

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES: CREW CORNER

The crew recently learned to use the brush mower!! Their confidence in learning and trying new things is inspiring...for some folks this is a first time driving. Glad to be able to help MidPen Housing with fire safety at one of their future low-income housing developments.

They are also cleaning dump loads of trash to keep it out of the creeks.

“My father passed away when I was 15. That summer I joined a Circuit Rider crew painting houses for elderly homeowners. The opportunity to learn a skill and see the connection between my actions and the benefit to community was formative. My experience, of using my talents to help others, stayed with me—from tutoring in college, to coaching my kid’s soccer teams, to mentoring for robotics programs—and now even serving on this Board.“
